Amersham Careers Fair
Posted onOn Thursday 17th March, Qufaro now a part of CIISec had the pleasure of meeting so many young men, women and parents at Dr Challoners Grammar School’s Career Fair in Amersham. The set up was great as over 70 companies, universities and organisations were split into career areas allowing students to hone in on their specific interests. With over 1500 students attending from a range of year groups from Year 10 upwards we were hoarse at the end of the evening from answering their insightful cyber questions.
At the beginning of the event, it could be fair to say that many of these bright individuals did not really understand much about cyber, but their inquisitive nature to discover more was satiated.
By the end of their chat with us, they came away knowing about the different fields in cyber as well as the different pathways into a cyber career whether that would be joining the cyber workplace, doing a cyber apprenticeship or heading off to study a cyber related topic at University.
Dr Challoners already have a fair number of students working through the CyberEPQ and as ordinary EPQ’s are also encouraged, it is a straightforward process to ensure the many who expressed interest in the CyberEPQ can take it up.
The event was a success with many signing up for the CyberEPQ, as well as lower year groups keen not to miss out expressing their interest to sign up to the Headstart programme in order to transfer onto the CyberEPQ.
If you are a school that is interested in us coming along to chat to students about the CyberEPQ or Headstart Programme, please contact us [email protected]
